QSAC Got Talent SEMI-FINALS! Pre-Voting begins NOW!

Hello My Darlings,

I have made it to the Semi-Finals in QSAC’s “Got Talent”! I’m super-excited to be a part of this talent contest/fundraiser for such a well-deserving non-profit.

For those of you that don’t know, QSAC provides services for people with autism in the NYC and Long Island areas. Some of their services include a preschool, day school, day habilitation, in-home services, group homes and case management. As “Got Talent” prepares for a new round of quarter finals (10/25 & 11/8), pre-voting has begun for the semi-finals.

What I need are YOUR votes in this online fundraising portion of the contest. If I can get enough audience votes (there will be a video of my performance of “Green Bean Casserole” posted to the QSAC website in the next couple of weeks), I will make it to the Finals and will sing for Martha Wash!

Pre-voting has already begun! Click this link to vote for Candy: http://www.qsac.com/talent/sf1vote.html

Remember, all votes/donations made to QSAC are tax-deductible!

Let’s get me to the finals!

Hugs,
Candy

Vote for Candy in "Got Talent"!

QSAC’s “Got Talent” 2011 Fundraiser
A vote for Candy is a vote for QSAC!
Quarterfinals – 10/11/11

PRELIMINARY AUDITIONS: YouTube links will be reviewed by a committee of industry professionals. The acts selected to move forward to the live auditions will be based on their talent, ability, look, style.

QUARTERFINALS: The quarterfinals will be broken down into three Tuesday nights (10/11/11, 10/25/11, and 11/8/11). You will be asked to perform at one of those events. Each night, a panel of industry professional judges will choose four (4) contestants to move forward. The other four (4) contestants moving forward (8 in total per night) will be chosen by the audience. Audience members purchase votes at $1 per vote (remember this is a fundraiser).

***I’ll be serving up my “Green Bean Casserole” on Tuesday, 10/11/11 @ 7PM! For those of y’all that aren’t in the NYC area or cannot make it, pre-vote NOW by following this link: http://go.qsac.com/GT2QF1a
Be sure to select Candy Samples from the drop-down menu!

SEMIFINALS: In this stage, the industry judges from the Quarterfinals will choose one third of the winners to move forward and two thirds will be chosen by online voters. If you are chosen to move forward to the online voting portion of the competition, you will be designated a webpage on the event website to promote your talent and raise funds. Again $1 = 1 vote. As in the Quarterfinals, the industry judges will be involved in the selection process. Your video will be aired on your webpage from November 10 to November 22, 2011. These votes will determine whether or not you will get to perform live at the Grand Finale at The Midtown Theatre, so make sure that your friends and family vote for you!

THE GRAND FINALE: The winning performances from the online portion will make up the competition’s Top 12 and will be announced on November 22. These contestants will be invited to participate in the live event at the Midtown Theatre in New York City on Tuesday, November 29, 2011. The Top 12 will again have a webpage to promote your talent and raise funds ($1 = 1 vote) from November 22 to November 29 at 1pm. These votes will help to determine the Grand Prize winner at the Finale.

QSAC provides services for children and adults with autism throughout NYC and Long Island. For more info, go to QSAC.com

Thank you! xoxo

Benefits The Life Group LA. www.thelifegroupla.org/ This is their 6th annual event!

MISSION STATEMENT
The Life Group LA is a coalition of people dedicated to the education, empowerment and emotional support of persons both infected and affected by HIV/AIDS so that they may make informed choices and decisions regarding their healthcare and personal well being.

Founded in 2005 The Life Group LA provides free of charge, much needed information and emotional support through medical forums, emotional support groups and the POZ Life Weekend Seminar. All services are offered in a non-judgmental and safe environment with compassion and understanding.

THE POZ LIFE WEEKEND SEMINAR:
The POZ Life Weekend Seminar is a place where compassion, education, community and love is offered unconditionally. It's a place HIV+ men, women, youths and family members can come be themselves, feel comforted and support in their effort to learn how to either live a long healthy productive POZitive lifestyle, or help someone they know and love overcome the fears associated with being HIV+.

TLGLA is primarily funded by donations from individuals, small foundation and corporate contributions. We do not apply for Federal funding as that would require us to disclose the identity of our clients which we feel breaches our oath of confidentiality to our clients and weekend participants.

Use Your Powers For Good!

Hello All:

I've been absent in my blogging, but wanted to remind you to use your powers for good and help me raise money for a well-deserving organization, QSAC (Quality Services for the Autism Community).

They provide services for children, adults and families dealing with autism. This weekend is their annual 5-K walk/run, and I've got a special link for you to donate to their cause!

If I can get 5 Candy Show listeners to donate $10 each, and then have those 5 get another 5 people to donate (and so on...) we can raise a nice bit of change to a group that does their part for the community.

Click to the Candy Show listeners special page here (copy and paste this link):

For more information about QSAC, visit them on the web at www.qsac.com

Y'all be sweet!
