The newest episode!

Y'all, it's the new "Planet Unicorn"!

Heyyy...

Tuesday, July 31, 2007

Hillary is a woman...

and therefore has cleavage. Yes, my darlings, the senator running for President, who's been accused of 'trying to be a man' is now under the scrutiny of the media for looking too 'slutty'.

Y'all, gender roles are becoming such a big issue in this bid for the White House.

I'm almost ready to put my name in the hat for candidates! I like to show a little cleavage from time to time, and I was born a man. Hmmm...now, wouldn't that make for some interesting YouTube debates?

Leave Hillary Clinton alone, y'all! ...and Barack, John, and the rest of those Little Rascals.

Candy

I'm so proud!

Y'all,

Pride Weekend was the best it's been in years! My fellow Gender Offenders, Chic and Sassy, and I joined Marriage Equality New York for the march down Fifth Avenue. The weather was beautiful and we even got a breeze to cool us girls off.

We high-tailed it off the parade route at 14th Street to make it to "Pride Festivus" @ D-Lounge. We arrived to DJ Platespiller spinning it up right. GO rocked out with some of our best-loved hits such as "Catch the Bouquet", "99 Boys" & "I Always Come First". I even did a special version of "When I Wore The Crown" --- a Pride 2007 Remix version.

It was so good to see so many fans and folks along the parade route and at D-Lounge. Thanks for making it a Pride to remember.

Stay tuned...GO will be taking a little break, but re-emerging for a 2 number set at Sweet Paprika on Friday, July 20.

Hugs and Kisses,
Candy

Get Your Pride On!

Rainy days and Mondays always get me down...

Except for this week. Y'all, we're gearin' up for Pride! This Sunday, I'll be joining my girls Sassy and Chic alongside Marriage Equality New York and The Blade to do some marching in this year's Heritage of Pride Parade. Y'all come down and see us!

Gender Offenders will be performing a special Pride show @ D-Lounge, Sunday, after the parade. Stop on down to 101 E. 15th Street (Union Square). Doors open at 4pm /$5 cover. The delicious, DJ Platespiller, is gonna be spinning and Gender Offenders are gonna tear it up with some of their best-known numbers. Y'all, it's gonna be a fun party. Come hang with us for a while and keep cool.

The Here! Network is showing "Before Stonewall" and "Pride Divide" for Time Warner OnDemand subscribers. Candy recommends y'all get your history on, so you can be well-versed in the weekends' festivities.

This past Saturday was Robert German's birthday party and a special performance of The Snake Oil Show. Let me just say, if you're not checking out this monthly variety show with NYC's funniest comics, witty songwriters and top drawer drag queens, you are missing something fierce. Maddy Wyatt, Kitt and Kaboodle, Sassy, Greg Walloch, Ophira Eisenberg, Chic, Allison Castillo, Jeffrey Cubeta, Robert German and I entertained a sold-out crowd and stayed around to with Mr. German Happy Birthday wishes.

I tried out a new song for The Snake Oil crowd, and let me tell you, I was a little nervous about my new musical selection, so I did what I always do when I'm nervous... y'all, I teased up my hair extra-big! Turns out the crowd loved my tune, which was all 3 verses of Sonny Curtis's theme to "The Mary Tyler Moore" show and I had a fitting bouffant for the song.

You know what they say --- Big hair, big dreams.

Sunday, I celebrated my good friend C-J.'s birthday with a lil brunch at The Cup and then a movie at Kaufman. C-J., Joe and I saw "Knocked Up". Y'all, it was a hoot. I recommend y'all go and see this one. Those crazy straights! Gotta love 'em.

Ok, kids, I'm signing off with some homework for all y'all...watch "Before Stonewall", and get in touch with our history of Pride!

Take care and be safe this holiday week.

WEAR YOUR RUBBERS!

xoxo,
Candy Samples

Happy Birthday Robert German!

Y'all, the weekend is finally here! I can't wait.

Saturday, June 16, I will be performing in The Snake Oil Show @ D-Lounge (101 E 15th St., Union Square) for a special evening of song and comedy...not to mention a special birthday celebration for the uber-talented singer/songwriter, Robert German.

Robert will be playing an extended set, so y'all come and check it out. Chic, my fellow Gender Offender hosts an evening fun for all.

Hope to see y'all there!

Kisses,
Candy

New York, New York!

Hey Kids,

Y'all, this was a big 'ol weekend for your pal, Candy. I started out with a nice dinner and visit with my old pal Tom. He's moved to Brooklyn, so I don't get to see him much these days. But he came by and we ordered some excellent Greek take-out and ate ate ate...whew!

By 11am on Saturday, I was on my way into the city to shoot a new pilot for Morgold Productions. The show is called, "No Moore", and I have a hilarious part...more to come. Stay tuned for more info.

By nightfall it was time to see my gal Julie and barbeque with the Astoria gang. We kicked it up on 42nd St (Astoria) until the wee hours of the morning. Fred's potato salad was sheer delight! I must get that recipe...fresh dill and all!

Sunday rolled around and it was time for brunch. I visited with fellow musician Robert German. I tagged along with him to see the latest cut of his new video, featuring my girls Chic and Sassy. They look fabulous and Mr. German shines like a superstar. I can't wait for the release party...

Sunday night, I sat down with my director buddy, Brian, to watch the Tony Awards. We were quite a pair, getting misty-eyed with every award presented. I, personally, love these awards, as they remind me why I moved to NYC. Next year, look out --- Candy's gonna take Broadway!

Upcoming shows: June 16 - Snake Oil Show / Robert German's Birthday @ D-Lounge.
June 24 - Pride Parade and "Pride Festivus" show @ D-Lounge.

Y'all be sweet!

CS

Paris Hilton Released...

After serving three days in the 'big house', Paris Hilton, apparently due to 'medical reasons' has been released from jail and will finish her 40-day sentence from home under house arrest.

A Hilton under house arrest? This can't be punishment.

Candy suggests that the little skank-a-doo serve her time in my NYC apartment. I have 2 gallons of paint for my bedroom that need to go up on the walls. My bathroom could use a good cleaning, and I'm home at 2pm for lunch every day. I like my tunafish on whole wheat with lettuce and tomato.

Serve your time, bitch! Martha had to serve...so should you!!!

Mama needs a cocktail. But y'all don't worry, I have the common sense not to get behind the wheel.

xoxo,
Candy
